Another famous pastime within the region is fishing. Amongst the main species consist of Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Carp, Bullhead, Channel Catfish and Bluegill.

Another common feature within the city of Lincoln is live music. the city of Lincoln hosts lots of festivals for its residents and visitors. Amongst the great venues is the Pershing Auditorium where large tours and national acts perform on a regular basis. Duffy's Tavern and Knickerbockers are other well known venues which features local and regional acts. The Zoo Bar showcases nightly blues music. The Lied Center is home of many Broadway productions, guest lectures and concerts. Community theatre can be enjoyed at the Lincoln Community Theatre, and the UNL student's stage productions.
