Leading manufacturers of bullets ammunition
Steve Hornady, president of Hornady Manufacturing, was on hand to accept the award. In presenting the honor, Tony Urban of McGladrey, a provider of assurance, tax and consulting services based in Omaha, said the Grand Island company, which was founded in 1949 by Hornady’s father, Joyce, has grown into one of the “world’s leading manufacturers of bullets ammunition.”
Lincoln Industries of Lincoln also received the award.
Urban said Hornady’s commitment to innovation and technology has allowed to grow, and it now employs more than 300 people at its Grand Island plant.
“It is just a tremendous success story,” Urban said.
“Hornady has had some really good years the last several years with the plant running pretty much at capacity,” said Barry Kennedy, Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry president.
He said one of the keys to Hornady’s success is its commitment to its employees and “providing some good jobs here in Nebraska.”
“They are a good company that has found new and unique ways to treat their employees well and also provide a needed product,” Kennedy said.
